Raymond Adlington: President of the Canadian Bar Association
September 7, 2018
McInnes Cooper is proud to announce that Halifax partner, and former Managing Partner, Raymond Adlington has recently been appointed to the President of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). The Canadian Bar Association is the only national association with a mandate to protect the professional and commercial interests of the legal profession and to promote the rule of law.
Ray, formerly Vice-President of the CBA, transitioned to President following the Annual General Meeting this summer. The CBA Board of Directors is comprised of one member from each province and territory in Canada in addition to the CBA President.
Adlington recorded a personal video message to members of the CBA regarding its priorities over the next year, and declared that it was his personal priority to advance the inclusivity of the law profession stating, “I have two daughters who will be entering the profession in the next ten years, and I have seen the challenges that women face in the legal profession, and have come to learn the challenges that other diverse populations face in the legal profession as well. I believe that inclusive behaviours is the path to true diversity, and this is the reason why I chose this as my personal priority.”
Congratulations Ray on this great career accomplishment.
