McInnes Cooper is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Watson Coles as Queen’s Counsel (QC).
The QC designation is awarded annually by the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia on the recommendation of the Nova Scotia Minister of Justice to a select group of lawyers, and represents the ultimate recognition of professional integrity, good character and outstanding contributions to the practice of law.
Catherine practices estates and trusts law, and is the leader of the firm’s regional Estates and Trusts Service Group. She brings extensive experience and knowledge in trusts and estate planning and administration, from simple wills and trusts to complex international and offshore strategies.
Catherine has a great reputation with her peers and clients, and has worked with everyone from individuals to large corporate clients to ensure that their families are protected and their objectives are met in the most efficient and tax effective manner.
Catherine is also the Senior Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Private Client Tax Committee, and the Vice President of the newly formed Access to Justice and Law Reform Institute of Nova Scotia.
