Muskrat Falls, NL Hydroelectric Project is “A game changing opportunity for the Atlantic Region”

Atlantic Canadians received more good news on the energy sector front with the finalization of 20 months of detailed contractual negotiations between Nalcor Energy and Emera Inc. Nalcor CEO Ed Martin stated the 1,500 page contract between Newfoundland & Labrador and Nova Scotia “creates flexibility to maximize any surplus power and represents a strong partnership between Nalcor and Emera.” The Muskrat Falls power project initiated in 2010, announced the completion of 13 formal legal agreements at the July 31st, 2012 press conference. We at McInnes Cooper are very excited for our clients to have secured a 50-year relationship to develop the Maritime Link, Muskrat Falls and the Labrador-Island Transmission Link.
