About William

Bill has a background in banking and commercial law with a focus in the areas of real estate development (residential and commercial), banking, medical distribution, fishing interests, and charitable organizations. He has been included in The Best LawyersTM in Canada in the areas of Corporate Law and Real Estate Law since 2014 and was recognized by Best Lawyers  as the Real Estate “Lawyer of the Year” for 2022, 2018 and 2015 and the Corporate “Lawyer of the Year” for 2014 in St. John’s.

Bill is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Business Administration. He earned his Law degree from Dalhousie University. He received his Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2014.

Bill is a former Director of the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation. He is a former trustee of Eastern Health Regional Integrated Health Authority (2013), and is a past director of HIROC Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada, HIROC Management Limited and Newfoundland Titles Inc..
