About Patrick

Patrick is a corporate lawyer with a focus in technology, media and entertainment, privacy and intellectual property. During his articles with the firm, Patrick assisted with the negotiation and review of various contracts for technology firms and provided advice around issues relating to intellectual property, liability and indemnity, and data privacy. He also assisted with incorporations, shareholder agreements, and option plans.

Having completed his health law certificate in law school, Patrick also has a keen interest in practicing law in the health space. He completed a placement with the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness during his final year of law school via the Dalhousie Health Law Institute, where he performed legal research into health-related policy. Patrick believes that the practice of law can have a significant and lasting impact in the health care sector, and is eager to grow his practice in this area.

Before pursuing the law, Patrick both owned and operated a music recording studio for five years, and later worked for a music-oriented technology startup. His experience gives him unique insights for clients in the media and entertainment industries, as well as a thorough understanding of the day-to-day nuances of running a business in a competitive market. Patrick brings these insights to his advice for all clients, including those in the startup space.

Off the clock, Patrick enjoys playing music, reading, hiking, and spending time with his young family.
