About John

John Kulik is an experienced construction and insurance lawyer.

John represents a broad range of clients in the construction industry, conducting construction-related litigation and arbitrations and preparing and reviewing construction contracts, with a special focus on construction liens. His insurance practice also covers a broad range of areas including matters of automobile, property and professional liability coverage. John acts as General Counsel for McInnes Cooper.

In 2016, John was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.  He was named Halifax Construction Lawyer of the Year 2014 and Halifax Insurance Lawyer of the Year 2010. In 2008, John was appointed as a King’s Counsel for the Province of Nova Scotia. John appears in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory. He is listed as a Provincial Litigation Star for Commercial and Construction Law in Benchmark Litigation Canada.

John sits on the Board of Directors at the Halifax Forum Community Association and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association. He is a member of the Ashburn Golf Club.
