Jill’s practice is primarily focused on insurance defence. She has past experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury and long term disability claims, providing her with the ability to provide clear and balanced advice when considering possible solutions. Jill also practices in the areas of commercial litigation, products liability, securities, construction and shareholders disputes. Jill has represented clients at the NS Court of Appeal, NS Supreme Court, NS Small Claims Court and Social Security Tribunal of Canada.
Jill continues to build a strong sports law practice, with experience in policy and governance review, risk management, and adjudicating disputes. With a background as a student athlete, Jill brings her dedication and work ethic to the practice of law. In 2004, she competed on the sprint kayak team in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. She raced in the k-4 500m placing 8th overall. She is also a Pan American Games Gold Medalist and competed on the Canadian National Team for a total of eleven years.
A strong advocate for community, Jill is a High Performance Committee Member with Canoe Kayak Canada, where she volunteers her legal knowledge on various issues.
