About Jane

Jane has a general litigation practice spanning many areas of dispute resolution and focusing primarily in the area of insurance defence.

While articling with McInnes Cooper, she assisted on a variety of litigation matters, preparing pleadings, court memoranda and other documents, conducting legal research and attending discoveries, meditations and court applications. Jane also has experience supporting property litigation matters involving individual property owners, including boundary disputes, expropriation and disguised expropriation matters.

With a background in classical music, Jane has a wealth of practical skills that assist her in the delivery of a consistent and cultivated product. She has honed these skills throughout her legal studies, resulting in an enhanced attention to detail and a passion for advocating in her clients’ interests.

During her legal studies, Jane was a Student Advocate with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, assisting students in navigating university policy and academic integrity hearings. She was also treasurer, writer and actor for the Weldon Literary Moot Society, presenting legal theatre productions based on literary classics in support of Halifax Humanities.

Outside of the office, Jane loves to experience live music, play local trivia and explore the Atlantic provinces.
