About Jane

Jane is currently completing her articles at McInnes Cooper’s St. John’s office and has an interest in litigation, particularly in the areas of insurance, regulatory defence, and real property disputes. Originally from Gander NL, Jane received a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from Memorial University in 2019 and went on to obtain a Juris Doctor degree from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law in 2022.

During her time at the School of Music, Jane graduated on the Dean’s List and received numerous awards for her academic and musical achievements. She has performed in many productions while working with the MUN Opera Workshop program, including travelling across Newfoundland to perform children’s operas for schools in rural communities. Upon entering law school, Jane was awarded a Law School Entrance Scholarship from the Law Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Jane volunteered as an advocate with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service and was the treasurer for the Weldon Literary Moot Society, which raises funds for Halifax Humanities. She has been known to frequent the Weldon Karaoke Clinic as well as the various meetings of the Domus Legis Society. In her spare time Jane enjoys cooking with friends, travelling, and is an avid knitter.
