Office Lead Partner
James is a Partner in our Saint John where he is also the Office Lead Partner. James’ practice focuses on corporate and business, property, municipal, and wills and estate law. James provides legal services to individuals, private corporations, partnerships, sole proprietors and other entities on the establishment of business structures, corporate reorganizations, purchase and sale transactions, estate planning, business succession planning, corporate financing and other matters. James represents several municipalities providing legal services on by-law review, by-law enforcement, contractual, property and other municipal matters. James also acts as the co-leader of the firm’s Cannabis Industry Group.
James received his B.Com (Honours) in Economics from Mount Allison University in 2003 and his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 2006. Upon graduation from Mount Allison University, James was recognized for his achievements with the Economics Departmental Award. James also holds two certifications from Osgoode Law. In 2019, he completed a certificate program on “Blockchain, Smart Contracts and the Law” and recently he completed another Certificate program on “Privacy and Cybersecurity Law”.
James is a member of the Saint John Law Society, the New Brunswick Law Society and the Canadian Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Saint John Sea Dogs Foundation. James is ranked in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and by Best Lawyers™ in Canada for his practice in real estate law and corporate law.
