About Alex

Alex maintains a litigation practice focusing on administrative law, environmental law, natural resources, aquaculture, energy and electricity projects, privacy and access to information, contracts, insurance, regulatory enforcement and compliance, and professional liability disputes.

He regularly represents public institutions (universities, colleges, municipalities, crown corporations) and private companies in a variety of industry sectors (oil and gas, energy, aquaculture, mining, telecommunications, insurance, construction). He has appeared and argued at all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before numerous other boards and tribunals, including the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities and Newfoundland and Labrador’s various regional appeal boards. He also routinely represents clients in processes before the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Alex is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association, a Director for Campus Childcare Inc. (Memorial University of Newfoundland) and Past-Chair and current member of the Board of Directors of Econext (formerly the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA)).
