About Ian

Ian has a diverse practice with a focus on litigation. He is lead counsel for a number of institutional clients and provides assistance with employment, property, corporate, commercial and general litigation matters. A considerable portion of Ian’s practice involves working with insurance companies and in insurance related matters.

Ian has experience representing clients before administrative tribunals and at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, including Nova Scotia’s Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. He prides himself on responsive, efficient and effective legal work.

Well respected for his experience, Ian has taught legal courses at Cape Breton University and currently lectures at Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law. Ian has also presented at professional development and community seminars on topics which include employment law and wills and estates.

Ian is an avid runner and has participated in races across Atlantic Canada, including the Prince Edward Island Marathon and the Cabot Trail Relay Race.
