About Emily

Emily is an associate with a general corporate and commercial practice. She primarily represents clients in the startup sector, providing advice on incorporations, structuring, option plans, shareholder agreements and general legal matters. Emily also represents companies on financing transactions, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, share purchases, asset purchases and reorganizations. She works with her clients to ensure they understand all of their options, informing strong business decision making.

While in law school, Emily earned a number of scholarships and awards, including the Schulich Scholarship, the O’Hara Prize for highest academic standing in criminal law and the Clifford Rae Achievement Award. She also received the Penelope Tham Business Law Summer Internship, and was an academic success program mentor.

Emily is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association. In her spare time, Emily can often be found reading the latest novel, playing golf, watching basketball (specifically the Raptors) and spending time with family and friends.
