About Deborah

Deborah is a Partner in our Halifax office who has extensive expertise in the securitization of debt financings for private companies on behalf of lenders and borrowers, including negotiating and drafting commitment letters, loan agreements and security documentation. She acts as Nova Scotia legal agent for Canadian and international law firms and their clients with respect to the securitization of assets of Canadian or international companies carrying on business in Nova Scotia and the use of Nova Scotia unlimited liability companies. Deborah works in general corporate matters including registration of businesses and partnerships in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, incorporation of Nova Scotia limited and unlimited liability companies, New Brunswick companies and federal companies, amalgamation of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick companies, dissolution/winding up of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and federal companies and continuance of extra-provincial companies into Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She is also involved in financing of commercial real property on behalf of lenders and borrowers, including negotiating and drafting commitment letters, loan agreements and security documentation. Deborah is recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for her practice in Banking and Finance Law and Corporate Law and is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

Deborah is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Greater Halifax Chamber of Commerce, and the Law Society of New Brunswick. She volunteers as a member of CAFE Nova Scotia and as Treasurer of the Capital Area Special Olympics. Deborah is active in her community as a participant in numerous athletic activities, associations, and clubs.
