About David

David is a lawyer in our Sydney office with an expansive practice in the areas of immigration, litigation, and wills and estates. His general litigation practice is wide-ranging and encompasses immigration litigation matters such as refugee hearings, inadmissibility appeals, removal proceedings, and judicial review applications. David has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia, as well as before the Immigration and Refugee Board’s Immigration Division, Refugee Protection Division and Immigration Appeal Division. Beyond immigration litigation, David also provides support to clients with general immigration needs, including applications for temporary and permanent residency and advice on the impact of criminality in an immigration context. His wills and estates practice is diverse and involves planning, administration, litigation and adult representation applications.

With a focus on International and Criminal Law while in law school, David was a recipient of an Alistair Fraser Award for Criminal Justice, earned a Certificate in Marine Law, and competed as a member of the school’s Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot team, receiving an oralist prize at nationals.

Before practicing law, David spent more than a decade in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Naval Engineering Officer. A dedicated volunteer, David works with a variety of not-for-profit organizations in his community and is a coach for local baseball, basketball and soccer teams.
