Brian maintains a practice in the defence of insurance-related claims. He acts as defence counsel in a wide range of matters including personal injury, accident benefits, first party claims, product liability claims and coverage disputes, and regularly appears before Courts in New Brunswick at all levels. He has completed the Canadian Risk Management program.
In addition to the defence of insurance-related matters, he also advises and acts for clients in property disputes related to easements and other rights-of-way, professional negligence, New Brunswick’s Land Titles system and commercial real estate matters.
He has significant experience in the litigation of First Nations matters in the natural resources sector.
Among other organizations, Brian is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick/Canada. He was appointed to and serves as a member of several Committees of the Law Society of New Brunswick including its Competence Committee and Examinations Committee.
Brian currently sits on the Board of the Nashwaak Watershed Association, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the Nashwaak River, and is actively involved in community gardening initiatives in New Brunswick.
He has two young sons who have inherited his love of the outdoors and, in particular, spending time along and in New Brunswick’s rivers.
