Anna is a bilingual lawyer with a practice primarily focused in commercial litigation, personal injury defence, and alternative dispute resolution. She has comprehensive litigation experience and has frequently appeared at the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in various judicial centres throughout the province. Beyond the courtroom, Anna also has considerable experience in settlement negotiations.
Before joining McInnes Cooper, Anna handled matters in family law, criminal defence, and civil litigation. She gained valuable experience in drafting and preparing various legal documents. Anna successfully argued for a stay of proceedings on behalf of an individual whose rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms were infringed.
Anna received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History from Memorial University and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Université de Moncton. During law school, Anna participated in the Laskin, an annual national bilingual moot court competition in Canadian administrative and constitutional law.
Anna is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and sits on the Society’s SS Daisy Legal History Committee. She has worked and volunteered on a local and international level. Anna has been an active volunteer with Special Olympics since 2007. She formerly sat on the Board of Directors for Broadening Horizons and volunteered with the Association for New Canadians in Newfoundland and Labrador. She worked as an English language assistant in Compiegne, France, and volunteered with Youth Challenge International in Mombasa, Kenya.
