About Anna

Anna Wadden is a bilingual litigation associate in McInnes Cooper’s St. John’s office.

Anna started her career practising family and criminal law in Central NL, where she successfully argued two applications under the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. Since relocating to St. John’s, NL, her practice is focused on general civil litigation defence.

Anna has represented both individuals and corporations and has been involved in all stages of the litigation process, inside and outside the courtroom. She has appeared before the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). She has also appeared before the Federal Court and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

Anna received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History from Memorial University of NL and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Université de Moncton. During law school, Anna participated in the Laskin, an annual national bilingual moot court competition in Canadian administrative and constitutional law.

Anna is a member of the Law Society of NL and the Canadian Bar Association. Anna is currently Co-Chair of the Society’s SS Daisy Legal History Committee and Secretary of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.
