About Aidan

Aidan drafts and negotiates all manner of construction contracts for owners, architects, engineers and contractors including EPC, Design-Build, Lump Sum, Unit Price, Development Agreements and Consultants Agreements. His practice also includes prosecuting and defending construction related claims, such as breach of contract, negligence, professional liability, products liability and tendering. Aidan has appeared before Courts at all levels in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan. He has appeared in arbitrations in Quebec and Nova Scotia in large construction claims and handles commercial litigation and product liability matters.

Previous to becoming a lawyer, Aidan practiced as a professional engineer for multi-national oil and gas companies for six years. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Law Society of Newfoundland & Labrador, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. Aidan teaches Construction Law at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. He also taught Civil Trial Practice at Dalhousie University for eight years. Aidan lectures at Construction Association of Nova Scotia seminars and frequently presents at legal and industrial conferences and seminars. He is also a soccer coach in his community.

Aidan is listed as a Provincial Litigation Star under Commercial, Competition and Construction Law in Benchmark Litigation Canada.
