Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has created an ongoing humanitarian crisis. McInnes Cooper recognizes the need for international support for the people of Ukraine and the desire for Canadians to be part of these efforts.
As a firm, we are committed to standing in solidarity with Ukraine through a number of actions:
Partnering with other local law firms to offer pro-bono support for immigrants from Ukraine;
Internally, we are embarking on several fundraising initiatives across the region in all of our offices which complement our firm’s financial commitment to the Canadian Red Cross Ukrainian Crisis Fund;
In Halifax, we changed the MC sign atop McInnes Cooper Tower to blue and yellow from March 28 onwards to show our support;
We are sharing sources of information about immigration via our website, and
As a member of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms, we are contributing information resources to the Lex Mundi Ukraine Crisis Resource Centre.
The gravity of the conflict in Ukraine is, unfortunately, shaping a new global reality. We recognize that you may continue to face unfamiliar challenges and risks. With over 160 years in business, we have counselled clients and community partners through extraordinary times, and we remain dedicated to being your trusted advisor and providing you with insights you might need at this time.
