McInnes Cooper congratulates partner, Karen Gardiner, on her recent appointment to the St. Francis Xavier (StFX) University Board of Governors. Her term will span three years, effective July 1, 2020.
Karen is a proud alumna and avid supporter of StFX, which is held in high regard as one of Canada’s oldest and most prestigious universities. A strong advocate for sport, she is the current Chair of the StFX Women of X-cellence, sharing a mission to enhance the experience of current female student-athletes both on and off the playing field. In 2016, she received the ‘X-ceptional’ award for going above and beyond in support of StFX Athletics. Karen has also co-chaired the StFX Kehoe Dinner & Auction on two occasions, in conjunction with the Halifax Alumni Chapter, collectively raising over $275,000 to date for student athletes and bursary awards.
She is also a board member of Junior Achievement Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame and the YMCA – Greater Halifax / Dartmouth.
