Don MacLeod: Appointed Chair of the Board for the Shipowners Protection and Indemnity Association

McInnes Cooper is proud to announce that, Donald A. MacLeod, QC Counsel, in the Halifax office was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Shipowners Protection and Indemnity Association at its board meeting on May 19, 2022, in Dubai. Don has been on the board of the Shipowners’ Club for many years, most recently holding the positions of Vice Chairman of the Club and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
As Chairman, Don very much looks forward to leading the Club over the coming years and pledges to maintain the Club’s commitment to providing the highest levels of service, financial security, and strength to its Members and the broking community that supports the Club.
The Shipowners’ Club is a mutual insurance association, offering Protection & Indemnity (P&I), Legal Costs Cover and associated insurances to smaller and specialist vessel owners, operators and charterers globally. With over 160 years of experience, the club works to provide insurance packages for each operator based on their specific needs. The Club is a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs and works with more than 600 brokers globally to insure over 34,000 vessels across a range of operating sectors and geographical areas.
