Daren Baxter, QC, TEP, Nominated for Second Vice-President of NS Barristers’ Society

McInnes Cooper Halifax Partner and Board Member Daren Baxter, QC, TEP, has been nominated for Second Vice-President of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society for the 2014/2015 Council year.
In a unanimous selection, the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Society noted Daren’s extensive experience with governance, including governance of the Society. Daren served three consecutive terms (2005-2011) as an elected member of NSBS Council for Halifax District, and spent 11 years on the Finance Committee (2000-2011) with six of those years as Chair and two as Vice-Chair.
Daren is recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of Tax Law and was recently an advisor on trust law to the Law Reform Commission of Nova Scotia.
