November 23, 2016
Mario Garcia, article clerk in our Halifax office, was recognized earlier this month in the House of Assembly by the Nova Scotia Minister Justice, Diana Whalen for his involvement in the Public Navigator Program. The Program, which was created by the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia, focuses on self-representing litigants considering an action in Small Claims Court or the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, General Division and is the first of it’s kind in the country. The Program currently has 12 volunteers who serve as public navigators out of the Bridgewater Justice Centre and Mario was the catalyst for developing the core materials that underpin the program.
