Theron is an Associate in our Halifax office. His current practice focuses in the areas of litigation, corporate commercial, and construction law. During his time with McInnes Cooper, he has gained extensive experience in legal research and writing, statutory interpretation and analysis, and practice management. This includes reviewing and identifying key features of newly enacted or proposed legislation; drafting legal documents for all levels of Court including the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, the Bankruptcy Court, Small Claims Court, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and Nova Scotia Court of Appeal; preparing legal memoranda and opinions; and attending at Court during submissions.
Prior to law school, Theron worked as a project manager in the residential construction industry. In that position, Theron was responsible for overseeing residential projects from start to finish. This included scheduling the project and compensating for delays, managing client expectations and ensuring satisfaction throughout, reconciling variations in price with changes to the scope of the work, and navigating city bylaw processes (approvals and compliance).
Theron is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund and The Advocates’ Society.
