About Liliana

Liliana is a Collections and Litigation Paralegal in McInnes Cooper’s Saint John office. She provides legal support in collections and litigation matters, assisting counsel and clients with pre-litigation assessments, enforcement of judgments, and debt recovery proceedings.

Working closely with lawyers throughout all stages of collections and litigation files, Liliana helps move matters efficiently from initial assessment through judgment enforcement. Her work includes preparing and reviewing pleadings, affidavits, demand letters, court filings, and other legal documents, conducting legal research, analyzing documentation, coordinating with clients and opposing parties, and supporting recovery strategies through garnishments and other enforcement remedies. She is committed to ensuring files are managed efficiently while maintaining compliance with procedural requirements and applicable legislation.

Prior to joining McInnes Cooper, Liliana practiced law in Colombia before expanding her legal career in Canada. She gained valuable experience in collections and litigation at Lawson Creamer in Saint John and previously served as legal counsel and senior lawyer in Colombia, advising clients on a broad range of legal matters. Having worked in both jurisdictions, she brings an international perspective, strong analytical skills, and a practical understanding of complex legal issues to the files she supports.

Liliana is passionate about giving back to her community and actively participates in a variety of volunteer initiatives. She values McInnes Cooper’s strong commitment to community engagement and the positive impact the firm makes through its volunteer programs.

Originally from Colombia, Liliana and her husband are proud to call Saint John home. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring New Brunswick’s lakes, trails, and mountains with their dog, Nala. She also enjoys music, dance, discovering different cultures, and spending time outdoors, interests that reflect her appreciation for community, diversity, and lifelong learning.
