About Katie

Katie is a corporate and intellectual property lawyer, primarily servicing clients in the technology, startup, media, and entertainment-related sectors. A native of St. John’s, NL, Katie grew up immersed in the rich, artistic culture of Newfoundland and Labrador, which inspired her passion for the arts from a young age. Katie’s clients are innovators and creators, and as a lawyer, her deep understanding of their needs allows her to provide creative solutions to their complex challenges.

Katie services a diverse spectrum of clients – from emerging artists to multinational corporations, providing a range of services and related advice, including:

  • Acquisition, licensing, and protection of intellectual property rights

Katie is currently a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. She also serves as the Chair of Intellectual Property Section of the CBA-NS, and as a director of the Nova Scotia Artists’ Legal Information Society (NSALIS).
