Chris’ practice focuses on civil litigation including construction and complex insurance and commercial matters, as well as professional malpractice, products liability and tax matters. Chris has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for his work in Construction Law, Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Legal Malpractice, and Personal Injury Litigation and is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory. He was named Best Lawyers® 2020 Construction Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Halifax. Chris is listed as Provincial Litigation Star under Commercial, Product Liability, and Professional Liability Law in Benchmark Canada.
Chris has been a lecturer in civil procedure at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law and a regular lecturer at several professional liability loss control programs. He is a past Chair of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal Liaison Committee, as well as a member of the Court House Standards Committee and the Halifax Court House Commission. He is a member of the construction subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, a fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers and has written many articles on construction law. Chris is also involved in many community activities, and has been a volunteer ski racing coach for many years.
