Carolyn has a corporate law practice, focused in the areas of finance and securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. She has assisted in numerous private placement financings, incorporations, and other general corporate transactions. Through her articles with McInnes Cooper, Carolyn gained experience with several Securities Commission orders and assisted in obtaining an exemptive relief order for a TSX-V listed client.
Carolyn has a passion for solving problems while working collaboratively. While in law school, she competed at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition and received an award for her process management and analysis skills. Recently, Carolyn was invited back as a guest judge for the 2020 Competition.
Prior to joining McInnes Cooper, Carolyn worked in the legal department of a financial institution. She regularly draws on her experiences working in-house to create business value for her clients.
Carolyn is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association. Outside of the office, Carolyn regularly participates in McInnes Cooper’s CSR initiatives and enjoys traveling and curling.
