We extend our sincere congratulations to our colleague and respected Counsel, Peter Claman, KC, on his upcoming retirement from McInnes Cooper, effective March 31, 2026.
Peter has served as a trusted advisor to his dedicated clients, practicing independently at Claman Law for more than 50 years before joining McInnes Cooper in 2024.
After earning his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1969, Peter was called to the Nova Scotia Bar the following year. His experience includes representing owners, purchasers, developers, and lenders in some of Atlantic Canada's most significant commercial real estate transactions, notably the acquisition of Mic Mac Mall and the development of the Nova Centre.
Throughout his distinguished career, Peter also represented both European and local investors in the acquisition of the Summit Building on Lower Water Street and acted as counsel to lenders during the initial financing and development of Portland Estates Limited in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
“I extend our warmest thanks to Peter for his contributions to McInnes Cooper,” said Kevin Kiley, Managing Partner. “Throughout his time with us, many have had the privilege of learning from his insight and of benefitting from his thoughtful guidance.”
Peter commented, "I am confident that my longstanding clients and their files will continue to receive the high level of service they expect from Atlantic Canada’s leading law firm."
