About McInnes Cooper’s New Partners
Sean Corcoran - (Charlottetown) Sean’s practice focuses on banking and financial services, commercial financing and residential and commercial real estate. With a background in economics, he advises financial institutions and corporate clients on commercial lending matters and has acted in the placement of a wide range of credit facilities. He also advises lenders in commercial enforcement matters. In addition, Sean provides legal advice to business owners, partnerships and corporations on a wide range of matters, including incorporations, reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, asset and share purchases and real property matters.
Melanie Gillis - (Halifax) Melanie is an accomplished commercial litigator who has represented clients before all levels of court. Her advocacy practice is distinguished by a deep focus on the construction and energy sectors, enabling her to combine strong courtroom advocacy with strategic, business-minded counsel. Beyond her litigation work, Melanie provides strategic guidance on major construction and renewable energy projects throughout Atlantic Canada, helping clients navigate complex deals, shifting regulations, and a rapidly shifting energy landscape. Melanie brings a thorough, pragmatic, and solutions-driven approach to her work, and takes great pride in being both a strong advocate and trusted advisor for her clients.
Paige McInnis - (Halifax) Paige’s law practice focuses on tax, corporate law, estate planning, and estate administration. She brings valuable experience and offers a wide range of tax services to corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals, with a strong emphasis on tax planning for businesses and their owners. Her work includes advising on corporate transactions, domestic and cross-border tax strategies, and complex reorganizations. Paige completed the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) In-Depth Tax Course in 2024 and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Parker Menzies - (Fredericton) Parker’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, commercial financing, corporate governance, property development, and business sales and acquisitions. Parker has extensive experience in the construction and property development industry, representing builders, owners, and financial institutions through project financing, construction agreements, and dispute resolution. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Parker worked in the construction industry as a project manager and engineer, where he gained experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects in Atlantic Canada. This experience allows Parker to uniquely identify and understand his client’s needs in this sector.
Kyle Peck - (Sydney) Kyle practices in the areas of commercial and residential real estate. The majority of his practice is focused on commercial financings, property acquisitions, conveyancing matters, subdivision development and land use planning matters. He represents property developers, lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, companies, government and individuals in a variety of real estate matters. Kyle also advises renewable energy firms in respect of real estate matters pertaining to the acquisition, operation and financing of wind and solar power projects. This experience includes land acquisitions, transmission easements and leasing matters.
