CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI September 25, 2014 — Law firm McInnes Cooper will become the primary tenant of the former Dawson Hardware Building, also known locally as the former Sam the Record Man Building, located at the corner of Kent Street and University Avenue. The building is undergoing restoration by developer Chris Tweel, and supports his recent Charlottetown heritage initiatives.
“According to the records, this structure was built in 1881, but our restoration work indicates sections may have been built even prior to that,” said Tweel.
Work on the building is expected to continue throughout the year, with a completion date slated for early 2016.
“All of us at McInnes Cooper are delighted with the prospect of serving our clients at this historic location,’’ said Scales. “The building is convenient for clients, and is a landmark property located in the core of downtown Charlottetown. We have a significant presence here in P.E.I. and we’re very excited to be a part of the city`s growth, and this heritage restoration project with Chris.’’
