Ronald McDonald House is pleased to announce McInnes Cooper’s donation of $25,000 to the building of its first house in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“We are honoured to be a part of ensuring our Province’s families have a place to go when they need it most,” says John O’Dea, Partner at McInnes Cooper, St. John’s.
Ronald McDonald House will give parents the opportunity to be close to their sick children, while offering families all the comforts of home, helping them preserve a sense of normalcy during very stressful and difficult times. The House will be located within five minutes of the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre and will include 14 bedroom suites, a large kitchen and common area, a playroom, teen room, home office and much more.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have McInnes Cooper’s support,” says Cathy Bennett, Chair of the Ronald McDonald House Fundraising Team. “Their donation is another tangible indication of the broad support for this project and brings us closer to making the dream of building Ronald McDonald House a reality.”
$6.5 million is required to build Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador. The organization plans to begin construction in Spring 2011, and open the House to families in 2012.
