McInnes Cooper is saddened to announce the passing of former McInnes Cooper counsel Keith Allen, KC.
A quiet, dignified and respected man, Keith made everyone feel comfortable in his presence. He generously shared his time and expertise, mentoring many young lawyers. Keith treated everyone with the same dignity and respect and never passed up an opportunity to share his experience and knowledge.
Keith practiced law for over six decades. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law in Fredericton and was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1958. After obtaining his Master’s degree from York University, Keith became a partner at Hoyt, Mockler, Allen & Dixon, remaining in this position until their merger with McInnes Cooper in September 2007. He retired from the firm in 2013 but continued his legal practice for several years after.
Keith was an esteemed member of his community, actively participating in the Fredericton Rotary Club and serving on the board of Easter Seals New Brunswick. He held certification as a Softball Umpire and dedicated many summers to officiating for various local softball leagues in the city.
McInnes Cooper extends its sympathies to Keith’s two children, Kenneth (Gail) Magee and Margaret Magee, his brother, sisters, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.
