In Memoriam: Eric LeDrew
-
March 28, 2014
It is with heavy, but full, hearts that McInnes Cooper advises of the loss of our friend and colleague Eric LeDrew on March 28, 2014.
Eric joined McInnes Cooper & Robertson as a Halifax associate in 1986, becoming a partner in 1994. In May 1997, Eric, Bernie Miller and Debbie Brennan ventured off to open McInnes Cooper’s Moncton office. Their collective legacy is the thriving group of professionals working in our Moncton office today.
Eric was an accomplished litigator, recognized for his construction law practice. He was co-counsel in the largest civil competition case in Atlantic Canada and in a series of arbitrations involving the building of the Fredericton-Moncton highway. He was well-respected and liked by his clients, many of whom became his friends. Eric was a generous colleague dedicated to the growth and development of young lawyers and a steady mentor who always had time, energy, and the right words for the many who sought his guidance.
Outside of the office, Eric loved fishing and was a Director of the Miramichi Salmon Association and a member of the St. Mary’s River Association. He loved his family and friends, his dogs, nature, history, and Led Zeppelin. Most of all he loved his wife, Shelley.
Eric chose to live each day of his life with joy, vigour and integrity. He encouraged us to do the same. We are grateful to have known him and he will be greatly missed.
