As sponsor of the Innovation award, McInnes Cooper congratulates Barden on this well deserved win
McInnes Cooper congratulates Dr. Christopher Barden, winner of the GO 2011 Innovation Award, handed out at the Annual Fusion GO Award Gala Saturday, Oct. 1.
“Christopher was a natural choice for the award and it was an honour to give him this recognition for all of his work in the life sciences,” says Rob Cowan, partner and member of the selection committee.
Each year, the GO Awards celebrate Haligonians under 40-years-old who are making a difference in their community. The Innovation Award in particular rewards “exceptional entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship in a product, service, or efficiently.”
Christopher is the founder and manager of three Halifax-based life science companies, and a partner in a fourth, he has helped to treat Alzheimer’s and is involved in developing next-generation antibiotics. He has also been involved in the development of tools that access traumatic brain injury and is a leader in the city’s life sciences community.
McInnes Cooper has placed a focus on serving innovative and high growth companies that require the high quality services of a large law firm, but are worried about costs at early stages of development. McInnes Cooper’s “BIG Potential Program” helps support these unique new enterprises by making it affordable.
