Cheryl Hodder, QC, introduced as Honorary Consul of Sweden

We are pleased to announce that Cheryl Hodder, QC was introduced as Honorary Consul of Sweden for Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador by the Government of Sweden at a reception held on February 15, 2012.
She has held this role since October 2011, after George Cooper resigned from the role of consul after serving in the position since 1999.
Cheryl practices extensively in the areas of Administrative Law, Education Law and Corporate Governance. In addition to this new honour, Cheryl is known for being an active member of the community. She is a Director of Film Nova Scotia and serves on the Nominating Committee of the Nova Scotia Community College. She is Past Chair of the National Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and past Chair of the Education Committee of The Halifax Chamber of Commerce. Cheryl is the Program Chair of the Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors and a Director and the Treasurer of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms.
Cheryl recently received the Allison J. Youngman Award for her volunteer leadership as Chair of the National Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and in 2010, was named Atlantic Canada’s first Women of Influence.
