Chera‑Lee Gomez Receives 2026 Distinguished Community Service Award

McInnes Cooper is proud to announce that Chera‑Lee Gomez has been named the 2026 recipient of the Distinguished Community Service Award by the Law Society of Prince Edward Island.
This recognition reflects Chera‑Lee’s long-standing commitment to community service across the province. Through her leadership, volunteer work, and advocacy, she has supported initiatives focused on newcomers to Canada, vulnerable individuals, youth programming, and community sport.
Her contributions include serving on the Board of the Immigrant & Refugee Services Association PEI, where she helped guide the organization while also providing hands-on support to newcomer families as they settled. She has also maintained a significant pro bono practice assisting vulnerable populations and supporting individuals affected by the war in Ukraine.
Chera‑Lee’s involvement extends to the John Howard Society of PEI and the Island Gymnastics Academy. Her commitment to human rights is further reflected through her work with Breaking the Silence: Maritimes‑Guatemala Solidarity Network — the recipient of the $2,500 donation accompanying this award.
