McInnes Cooper’s own Wylie Spicer, Q.C. will help lead this Chapter event. The presentation will discuss who should pay the UNCLOS required payment for petroleum production from areas of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles. Will the burden fall on Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador or industry? Understand how oil projects in this frontier area navigate between the rules of the coastal state and the requirements of UNCLOS. Canada is the first country to face this dilemma; examples from the Canadian experience will be highlighted.
A reception will follow the presentation.
RSVP is requested. Please RSVP to Federica Di Vetta at 403-776-3723
