Suzan is a Partner in our Halifax office who practices corporate finance and securities. On the strength of her achievements, she was recognized in Canada’s Best Lawyers publication for 2013. Suzan advises publicly listed companies on a range of finance and securities transactions, including equity financings, public offerings, private placements, amalgamations, mergers and acquisitions, take-over bids, reverse take-overs, and joint ventures. Acting as general counsel to public and private companies in the mineral resource sector, Suzan has drafted and negotiated exploration and development agreements, joint venture agreements, project financing, capital marketing financings, royalty agreements and international concessions.

Suzan also has an in depth knowledge of negotiating all aspects of public-private partnerships and has handled corporate reorganization negotiations, debt restructurings and refinancing for crown, public and private corporations including plans of arrangement and defeasance arrangements.

Suzan is a past chair of the NS Securities Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships. She has been asked to lecture at Dalhousie University, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships, and the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, as well as various other organizations.
