A Partner in our St. John’s office, Sheri’s areas of practice include commercial financings and acquisitions, general business advice including corporate governance issues, civil and commercial litigation including construction litigation, property disputes and shareholder disputes, as well as a wills and estates practice.
Sheri has been active in a number of professional and volunteer associations. She was on the executive of the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of the Canadian Bar Association for over ten year including the positions of President, Past-President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Membership Chair and Communications Chair. She served as the Editor of the Squid pro quo magazine, Chair of the Insurance Law Section, Chair of the Civil Litigation Section, Chair of the Awards Committee and as a member of the Professional Development Committee.
At the Law Society, Sheri was a subcommittee member of the Rules Committee, which developed the first significant overhaul of Rule 55 (the scale of costs) since the inception of The Rules of the Supreme Court, 1986. She was a Past-President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Diving Association, a volunteer and advisor with the Junior Achievement Company Program, as well as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador 2005 Canada Summer Games Mission Staff.
Sheri is currently the Vice-Chair of the Bowring Park Foundation and a member of the Board of Governors for the Law Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
