Scott is a Partner in our Saint John office who is a part of our Corporate and Business Group as well as the Real Property and Land Use Planning Group. His practice focuses in the areas of Real Estate law and Corporate and Commercial law. Scott was recently acknowledged in Best Lawyers in Canada 2014 for his practice in Real Estate law. Scott regularly performs mortgage foreclosures for financial institutions, and acts for developers in the acquisition of land for residential subdivisions, including providing advice related to planning and zoning matters. He has acted for clients in the purchase and sale of small businesses, including gasoline convenience stores and acts for lenders on commercial loans for such properties as multi-unit apartment buildings, strip-malls, special care homes and construction projects. Before joining McInnes Cooper, Scott worked as a mechanical engineer in both the manufacturing and consulting fields.
Scott is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB), the Canadian Bar Association, and the Law Society of New Brunswick. He holds a Bachelor of Science (M.E.) from the University of New Brunswick and LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School. Scott is also a member of the Planning Advisory Committee for the City of Saint John.
