Michael is a Partner in our Fredericton office who practices business law with a focus on real estate, natural resources and commercial matters.

 

Michael has considerable experience in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements on a variety of matters such as secured financings, purchase and sale agreements and leases.

 

Michael has advised several large industry clients in the energy, oil and gas and agricultural sectors on matters related to aboriginal consultation and environmental assessment and approvals processes. He has negotiated and advised on multiple accommodation and impact benefit agreements between industry and First Nations. He also regularly engages and negotiates with different levels of government on numerous regulatory matters, including environmental impact assessments, wetland mitigation, Crown leases and licences of occupation and Aboriginal consultation obligations.

 

Michael is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), the CBA’s Aboriginal law subsection and is a committee member of the New Brunswick CBA branch’s Environmental Law section. He has received his B.A. from St. Thomas University and LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick.
