Julie is from Gatineau, Québec. After graduating with great honors with a civil law degree from the University of Ottawa, Julie moved to Moncton to acquire a dual qualification by adding a common law degree to her legal background. In addition to an admission scholarship from the University of Ottawa, she also made the Dean’s Merit list for two consecutive years during her civil law studies and received a

scholarship for academic merit from the Canadian Heritage Ministry at the University of Moncton. During her last year of civil law, Julie contributed to the Notarial Law Clinic, a non profit organization in

collaboration with the University of Ottawa. During her year of common law, Julie participated in a comparative research study on consumer insolvency in common law and European civil law jurisdictions. Julie is particularly interested in corporate, estate planning and intellectual property law. Her hobbies include reading, cooking and fitness training.
