Jamie is a Partner in the Corporate and Business Law Group with a background in income tax planning and structuring.
Jamie’s practice is focused on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border business structuring, and trusts and estates planning. She has assisted on a broad range of corporate and financing matters, including mergers and acquisitions, asset and share transactions and private equity investments. Jamie has experience in the negotiation and drafting of general corporate and commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, and other commercial agreements. She provides her clients with guidance on the establishment of business structures, tax-efficient corporate reorganizations, purchase and sale transactions, business financing, estate planning, business succession planning and other commercial transactions. She regularly works with private corporations and enterprises in various industry sectors, entrepreneurs, business owners, extra-provincial enterprises, and charitable and non-profit organizations.
Jamie is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Directors and the Treasurer of a local charity, St. George’s Youthnet. She previously taught Corporate Transactions at Dalhousie University Law School, and has been a co-presenter at the Atlantic Provinces Tax Seminar and presented at various events on a wide range of business issues. She has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course, parts I and II.
Jamie is a proud mother of four and is actively involved in her children’s school committees and activities.
