Profile

Donna is Counsel in our St. John’s office and practices in the areas of workers’ compensation, employment and labour, health, privacy and administrative law.

 

She has extensive experience in the area of workers’ compensation having served as in-house counsel to the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission in the province for many years.  She has experience in matters of legislation and policy, internal review hearings, judicial review applications and appeals; occupational health and safety matters, human rights complaints and privacy issues.

 

Donna has also been in-house counsel with the largest health authority in the province and has been extensively involved in both labour and employment matters, human rights and the protection of employment related and personal health information. Her health law experience spans professional practice issues, professional employment contracts, disciplinary matters, medical staff privilege issues, health care decision-making and public tendering. She has provided advice on issues of competency in health care decision making and the protection of personal health information under provincial legislation.

 

She holds membership in the CBA and in the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
