Profile

Colleen is a Partner in our Halifax office who practices corporate finance and securities law. On the strength of her achievements, Lexpert Magazine recognized her as a Rising Star in 2007 (Top 40 under 40).

 

Colleen represents private companies, reporting issuers and publicly-listed issuers. She represents publicly-traded clients listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange on a range of finance and securities transactions, including equity financings, public offerings, private placements, amalgamations, mergers and acquisitions, take-over bids and reverse take-overs, and joint ventures. She liaises regularly on behalf of clients in securing approvals from provincial securities commissions and complying with continuous disclosure obligations. She has acted for various public issuers, including PDM Royalties Income Fund (now Imvescor Restaurant Group Inc.), Clearwater Seafoods Income Fund, Clarke Inc., Shear Wind Inc., Etruscan Resources Inc., Acadian Mining Corporation, Erdene Resource Development Corporation, General Donlee Income Fund and Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust. She has also acted for underwriters, including National Bank Financial Inc., Citadel Securities Inc. and Macquarie Private Wealth Inc.

 

Colleen also practices in the area of public/private infrastructure representing governments and the private sector in large-scale infrastructure projects. She is counsel to the Halifax Regional Water Commission on the Halifax Harbour Solutions Project.

 

Colleen is the past-Chair of the NS Securities Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association and a member of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships. She is also a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Discovery Centre.
