Barry Lake is a partner in our St. John’s office and a leading lawyer in Newfoundland and Labrador in the area of real property work.
Over the last 15 years, Barry has developed a substantial real property practice for both residential and commercial matters. He has considerable experience in purchases, sales, financings, quieting of title applications, commercial land development and subdivision work, and often acts as counsel for several major chartered banks on financing matters. Barry has also done extensive work in commercial leasing within Newfoundland, and advises clients on any and all real property related matters. His experience extends to related wills and estate planning work and general corporate guidance for clients.
Barry is ranked in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Newfoundland and Labrador Branch and serves as the chair of the Real Property Section. He is also a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, sitting on both the Disciplinary and Real Estate Committees, and a member of the Canadian Home Builders Association – Newfoundland and Labrador. In addition to having an LLB from Dalhousie University, Barry attended the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University (Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) 1996), and the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University (MBA 2000).
