Profile

Alan is Counsel in our Halifax office and his practice encompasses advising in general litigation matters including commercial contracts, corporate and commercial matters, real estate, estate planning, including trusts, wills and powers of attorney, and health law. He regularly advises professional associations on regulation and discipline, including prosecution and defence of discipline charges. Alan is recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for Legal Malpractice law.

 

Alan is a Past President of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society’s Ethics Advisory Committee, and the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society. He is also Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Legal Ethics and Professional Issues Committee, the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia’s Professional Conduct Committee and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia’s Discipline Hearing Committee.

 

Alan was recently awarded Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia Branch’s (CBANS) Distinguished Service Award for 2012.
