Daniel Wallace represents Veterans to challenge Federal Court
February 24, 2016
McInnes Cooper lawyer Daniel Wallace will take to federal court to represent veterans who say they’ve been wrongly shut out of disability payments from Ottawa. Approximately a dozen veterans have already enlisted help in challenging Ottawa, stating that they were told they were ineligible for disability benefits and therefore didn’t apply. The proposed law suit involves a 30 year federal government practice of deducting disability payments from the injured soldiers’ military pensions.
This case follows on the 2013 settlement of similar circumstance, where $424.3 million in retroactive payments were made to disabled veterans.
